Chesapeake Bay Trip

Since we will not be meeting next Monday on Labor Day, we will be meeting this Wednesday, Sep 10 at 7 pm, to pack the Troop’s stuff.

We will be going to the Chesapeake Bay from Sep 8-9th. We have invited Troop 13 to join us on this trip so it should be a lot of fun. T-13 will be making us a chicken sandwich lunch. Supper will be “Oceanman”! Our cost for the trip is $15, bring money Sunday lunch on the way home. We meet at 6 am on Saturday and leave no later than 6:30 am. We plan to return Sunday evening at 5 pm. Mr. Sinclair has some land that boarders the Chesapeake Bay. There is a small strip of beach that we pitch our tents on, so space is limited, we need to share tents to conserve space. So what can we do there? Well…. a lot! We can swim, fish, build sandcastles on the beach, cookout on the beach, catch crabs and have a feast, canoe nearby only, fly kites and the list goes on, its a great spot. There are no facilities so water will have to be hauled in, bathrooms will be father back in the trees. Bugs….. well if there is a slight breeze blowing no problem, but if it is still they will carry you away. Bring bug repellent and sun screen because there is no shade along the beach, we normally bring a push up tent or two for shade. We travel in Class A’s, bring your Scout Tee’s for the beach.
